Realization description
The goal of the project “Expansion and Modernization of the Wastewater Treatment Plant for the Świerzawa Agglomeration under the ‘Design and Build’ System” is to improve the operation of the wastewater treatment plant in terms of its capacity and treatment standards. The plant currently serves nearly 5,000 people from 16 localities, 12 of which do not currently have a sanitary sewer system.
The project involves the reconstruction and expansion of the treatment plant utilizing parts of the existing facilities and is based on the technology of a multi-phase continuous flow biological reactor of the BIOTECH type. The function of this reactor is full biological sewage treatment using low-loaded activated sludge operating in a continuous flow system in a dephosphatation – denitrification – nitrification configuration. The construction of two reactors is envisaged. The project will be implemented under the “Design and Build” formula.
Designed capacity of the wastewater treatment plant Qavg = 580,0 m3/d, Qmaxd = 870,0 m3/d.
As part of the reconstruction and expansion of the wastewater treatment plant in Świerzawa, the following will be executed:
- construction of two biological treatment trains along with technological equipment,
- modernization of the existing raw sewage pumping station,
- construction of a septage receiving station,
- construction of an equalization tank for delivered sewage and sludge,
- construction of a new sludge tank,
- design of a mechanical sludge dewatering unit within the social-technical building,
- adaptation of the existing biological reactor into a retention tank for excess water,
- construction of a social-technical building.
