Realization description
Under the investment project entitled “Expansion and Reconstruction of the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Brzeziny,” the facility was expanded and reconstructed through the construction of new structures, as well as the renovation and adaptation of existing ones.
The reception, equalization, and introduction of delivered sewage (septage) into the treatment train were streamlined. Additionally, a retention tank was converted into a biological reactor to increase the efficiency of biological processes. The modernization of the delivered sewage equalization tank and the optimization of the aeration process resulted in reduced electricity consumption. The adaptation of the existing equalization-retention tank into a reactor allowed for increased hydraulic retention time and activated sludge age, thereby reducing aeration demand and energy consumption.
The scope of works includes:
1. New facilities:
- Equalization-retention tank converted into a new biological reactor,
- Valve chamber,
- Platform for new blowers for the new reactor aeration,
- Container – housing for blower control cabinets,
- Two-bay septage receiving station equipped with mechanical screening devices,
- Intermediate tank for delivered sewage with pumps,
- Delivered sewage equalization tank,
- Discharge measurement chamber for the delivered sewage equalization tank,
- Biofilter treating odorous air from the delivered sewage equalization tank and the intermediate tank,
- Recirculation/distribution chamber.
2. Modernized facilities:
- Mechanical treatment building (Headworks),
- Mechanically treated sewage pumping station – regarding the integration of recirculation from facility No. 3,
- Biological treatment block – regarding the replacement of measurement systems,
- Modernization of the sludge management building,
- Modernization of the inlet chamber including retrofitting with a screen.
3. Inter-facility networks
