Realization description
The scope of the contract comprised the preparation of design documentation and the execution of construction works, including the provision of designer’s supervision, for the project entitled “Modernisation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Cegłów.”
The project included the construction of new facilities, the reconstruction and refurbishment of selected existing facilities, and the demolition of existing structures conflicting with the proposed site development plan.
Existing facilities subject to reconstruction and modernisation:
- Retention tank.
- Activated sludge tanks – biological wastewater treatment.
- Vertical-flow secondary clarifiers.
- Sludge pumping station.
- Aerobic sludge stabilisation tank.
- Hauled wastewater pumping station.
- Hauled wastewater storage tank.
New facilities:
- Mechanical wastewater treatment building.
- Treated wastewater flow measurement chamber.
- Hauled wastewater receiving station.
- Inlet pressure-breaking chamber.
- Wastewater pumping station feeding the biological treatment unit.
- Treated wastewater storage tank.
Associated infrastructure constructed as part of the project:
- Construction of the required outdoor power supply, control and instrumentation cable systems.
- Installation of an industrial closed-circuit television monitoring system (CCTV).
- Construction of new sections of inter-facility utility networks, including sludge pipelines, air pipelines, process water pipelines, potable water pipelines and sewer systems, including service connections and associated fittings and appurtenances, such as isolation valves, sewer manholes and other ancillary equipment.
The remaining existing infrastructure, including structures, equipment, equipment assemblies and installations not subject to reconstruction or refurbishment, was integrated into the new process system in accordance with its intended functions, ensuring its full operational capability within the modernised treatment process.
Furthermore, a complete new wastewater treatment plant control system was installed. The works included the installation of new instrumentation and measurement systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), control algorithms and the implementation and commissioning of a new integrated plant control system.
