Realization description
The scope of the project included: modernisation of the biological wastewater treatment process, thus creating the capacity for increased collection and effective treatment of wastewater from the agglomeration and, in the long term, from other localities in the municipality of Zawonia, to the extent required by applicable legal standards.
Technically, the modernisation involved the construction of a new technological system for biological wastewater treatment and an appropriate solution to the issue of sludge processing. The existing preliminary wastewater treatment solutions (prior to biological treatment) have been utilised or modernised.
The reconstruction and expansion of the wastewater treatment plant in Sucha Wielka provided for:
- increase in the permissible pollutant load of the treatment plant from 2,100 PE to 5,500 PE;
- improved efficiency and performance of the wastewater treatment plant’s sewage line;
- optimised energy consumption of the facility;
- construction of a coherent, modern system for monitoring and controlling the operation of the wastewater treatment plant.
The following work was carried out:
- decommissioning of the existing Lemna aeration pond, temporary adaptation of the Lemna secondary treatment pond for wastewater treatment during construction, decommissioning of the Lemna secondary treatment pond;
- demolition of existing structures and landscaping elements;
- extension of the sewage pumping station;
- construction of a basket grid tank, including delivery and installation of technology;
- delivery and installation of a scrrren and grit unit with a bypass channel;
- construction of a shelter for the screen and grit unit;
- construction of a hauled waste receiving station consisting of: a container receiving station, mechanical pre-treatment units for hauled wastewater, an equalisation and balancing tank, and an odour gas biofiltration system;
- construction of a biological wastewater treatment station;
- construction of a sludge dewatering station consisting of: an oxygen chamber for sludge stabilisation; delivery and installation of a belt press; a polyelectrolyte solution preparation station, screw conveyors, a lime silo with a lime sanitisation system, a KTSO blower station, and a sludge storage facility;
- construction of inter-facility networks;
- installation of electrical systems supplying power to equipment and control and measurement equipment, including measuring devices;
- delivery and installation of a power generator;
- construction of a technical building;
- renovation of the existing service building;
- delivery and installation of a weighbridge;
- construction of roads and squares;
- landscaping including site fencing; site lighting;
- renovation of the sewage outlet and stairs with railings.
