Realization description
The scope of works covered by this task included the design, extension and modernisation of the sewage treatment plant in the town of Subkowy. In accordance with the Investor’s assumptions, the capacity of the treatment plant was assumed to be increased from 180 m³/d to 360 m³/d.
- Design, expansion and upgrade of the treatment plant from a capacity of 180 m³/d to 360 m³/d.
- Introduction of mechanical pretreatment and biological wastewater treatment in a multi-phase, low-load activated sludge system.
- Construction or expansion of new facilities: additional biological reactor, excess sludge stabilisation chambers, belt press for sludge dewatering.
- Automation and monitoring: control system, installation of control and measurement equipment
- Modern technical adaptation to wastewater quality standards
Technical parameters after modernisation:
- Average throughput (Qavg) – 360 m³/d
- Maximum throughput (daily) – 540 m³/d
- Population equivalent (p.e.) – 3,270 persons
- Specific waste water consumption – 110 l/person/d
- Unevenness coefficients – daily: 1.5; hourly: 2.4
The wastewater is treated first mechanically and then biologically. The adopted technology for the biological treatment of wastewater at the Subkowy wastewater treatment plant is based on a low-load, multiphase activated sludge in a flow system, and the excess sludge is stabilised aerobically and then dewatered on a belt press. Some of the facilities, including the additional biological reactor, were made new, meeting current quality standards and increasing the capacity of the treatment plant. The treatment plant is characterised by modern technical solutions, the legally required and stable composition of the treated wastewater.
